We are expanding our team to support our next fund and are currently seeking an experienced finance professional to lead our Finance & Operations team. Working closely with our investment team and third-party fund administrator, you will lead a small team of finance and admin professionals with overall responsibility for all aspects of Finance, Operations, Compliance, Risk Management, Tax, HR and Administration.

We are looking for an effective leader, capable working collaboratively to keep our business running efficiently. The successful candidate must have the ability to manage relationships with investors and service providers such as our third-party administrator, auditors and tax and legal advisors. Being detail-oriented, able to identify issues and implement solutions, and design and streamline processes will be critical skills. We are a relatively flat, team-oriented organization, and this role is a combination of both supervisory and hands-on responsibilities.

 SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Required:

• professional accounting designation (CPA)
• 10+ years relevant financial management experience
• risk management experience
• passion for environmental sustainability
• strong attention to detail

 We consider the following to be strong assets of the chosen candidate:

• experience working in the financial services or investment industries (ideally VC or PE)
• cross-border experience
• understanding of fair market valuations
• previous roles in small or entrepreneurial firms
• experience leading teams
• experience and proven ability to develop, upgrade or maintain internal systems and controls for operational, organizational and financial performance

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

 This is a permanent position located in the Gastown Vancouver area, with flexibility on hours and work schedule for the right candidate.  A senior professional interested in a part-time role may be an excellent fit.  Salary & title commensurate with experience.  Benefits include participation in the Renewal extended health, dental plans and professional development plans.
